Imagine a coffee shop. Two people come together sitting by a beautiful window, sipping delightfully warm cappuccinos, all in the shadow of a magnificent wooden bookshelf filled with wisdom from all over time and space. A conversation starts.
The two come together as peers exploring the deep questions at the core of their biggest problems. The conversation naturally leads to the ideas of Buddha, Socrates, Nietzsche. The friends borrow ideas from these big thinkers as they find new ways to look at their problems.
The next day when each is faced with making big decisions, they reflect on these perspectives and approach their circumstance with renewed curiosity and hope.
The next week when each is struggling with why any of this stuff matters anyways, they think back to the coffee shop and the wisdom they explored. They remember that meaning is something you create and that everything is interdependent.

They feel energized and ready to start anew. Their problems no longer seem as heavy and impossible as before.
I want to invite you to this coffee shop, to this conversation, and allow me to guide you through how philosophy can help you navigate the questions that cut right to the core of your challenges.
This is philosophical counseling
Philosophical Counseling
For my philosophical counseling clients, I spend time carefully exploring whatever challenges you are currently facing. I listen and witness you in the things that make life difficult today. After carefully coming to understand your circumstance, I help you discover what core questions lay at the center of these difficulties. From there, we will explore together how different philosophers approach these core questions. I tailor our exploration specifically to ideas that will serve you right now on your journey. As we work together, you will start to craft your own philosophical approach to your life circumstance. These fresh perspectives will help you make better decisions, heal the parts of you that needed to be seen, and deepen your understanding of the human condition.
I offer a three session philosophical counseling package for $600 USD. These sessions can be scheduled whenever the client prefers, but they must be used within one year of signing the contract. The typical schedule is meeting with me once per month for three months.
Before you pay a dime, we will meet via zoom to make sure we are both a good fit for each other.
Now imagine that same conversation in that same coffee shop, but instead of our two friends parting ways after their chat, one stays to help the other. This friend stays nearby to help the other apply the important lessons from their conversation to their everyday life.

No longer do the two individuals have to puzzle over the meaning of that conversation solo. Now the one helps the other in real time discover the many ways these philosophical insights aid them in their day to day. The friends message, share deeper insights, and help one another to continue to think philosophically.
